with a focus on comic works based on
life
narrative, the drama of the domestic and the
everyday.
Launched in
July 2009 the group was set
up by the illustrator and author of
graphic
novel Billy, Me & You Nicola Streeten and
the artist and curator Sarah Lightman. It is
the first women led graphic novel forum
in
the UK. Artists, academics, publishers
and fans from around the world are
invited
to speak. It is a platform for people to test
new works and ideas,
where emerging
artists present their work alongside more
established
practitioners. The evenings
offer an inspiring experience in a
social
atmosphere for both those new to comics
and those already immersed.
Both men and
women are welcome!!
Laydeez do Comics has recently
launched
groups in San Francisco and New York

Oh, I SO want to go to this event! Unfortunately I've already called in a couple of childcare favours this week and so will probably have to give it a miss. Hope it goes really well!

Today's cartoon made me gasp! So like me! I might think I am up for all sorts of challenges but really I'm lazy and prefer the coziness of the known over the adventure of unknown.
