First off, I have to apologize (in true Canadian fashion) for my "Between Friends" strip no longer appearing daily on my site.
Long story short, I knew I would lose the daily scheduler as soon as I made a change to my site's homepage and that's why I haven't updated it in so long. However, since I have been promoting my book, "Coffee, Tea and Reality" as "new release" since 2004, I felt I just couldn't put off making changes any longer.
The good news is you can get "Between Friends" sent directly to your inbox on a daily basis by signing up with DailyINK through my syndicate, King Features. Yes...it does cost you to sign up...but it's only $15 for the entire year. ($15 US that is...although with the state of our Canadian loonie, there really isn't that much difference in the exchange.)
The biggest bonus with DailyINK is that the cartoons are VERY LARGE and VERY READABLE, (I can even read them without my glasses), you have access to a more extensive archive and you have your choice of receiving as many of the strips offered by King Features as you like. Besides the comic strip and panel offerings there are editorial cartoons, vintage cartoons and puzzles. You can even send cartoon E-cards. Really, it's a good deal...it costs me more than that to take my two kids out for one dinner at McDonalds. (they're way past the Happy Meal stage)
But enough of the sales pitch.
I have been thinking about doing this blog for quite some time and now that my daily comic scheduler is gone, I figure this is the time to give it a try. Also, blogs seem to be very popular at the moment and I thought it might be a good time to jump on the bandwagon...er...try something new.
I'll be chatting about Between Friends-ish, comics-ish type things of course but I'm not going to restrict myself at this point. I'm pretty sure one of two things will happen with this blog. (1) I'll get completely caught up with the whole blogging experience and waste even more time than I already do on the computer or (2) it will go the way of a self-imposed deadline.
So here it is. I'm going to try and commit to this blog until January 2008. Oxymoron be d*mned.
